Mark Lillycrop

 

 

 

Mark Lillycrop has worked in the IT industry for more than 20 years. Starting at Burroughs (Unisys), he spent many years with European industry analyst Xephon, latterly as the board director responsible for research, events, and strategic reports.

He founded (and edited for 15 years) the monthly journal Insight IS, one of the most comprehensive independent sources of information for enterprise systems users. He also ran Xephon's user research association, IBEX.

In 2001, he set up Arcati to provide publishing, writing, research and marketing services for enterprise IT vendors and users, and to offer a central source of independent information for mainframe users.

Mark has spoken on IT/data centre management, business continuity, security, and system management topics at numerous industry events, such as UKCMG and GUIDE/SHARE in the UK and AFCOM in the USA. He has presented at customer events for IBM, BMC, Sterling Software, ICL, and Candle, and has taken part in analyst relations workshops for the Kensington Group. He has also undertaken marketing assignments for IBM, Sun, StorageTek, Aperture, FAST, BMC, Sophos and CDS.

A frequent commentator on industry issues, his columns and articles have been published in the UK in The Guardian, Computer Weekly, IBM Today, MiddlewareSpectra, MIS Magazine, and IT Training, as well as in several US publications. He regularly provides the Data Center Insights column for DCM Magazine and the Vendor Watch column for zJournal.

Mark is an Associate of Valley View Ventures Inc and publisher of the Mainframe Market Information Service and the Arcati Mainframe Yearbook.
